Introduction to Research and Publication Ethics

The webinar is designed to address the ethical issues arising in Asian journal publication while focusing the ways of investigating and resolveing violations of publication ethics. The session will comprise of an introduction of ethics in publishing for the new publishing editors, managing editors and journal staff members. It will deliver a brief knowledge on conflicts of interest, redundant publication, piracy and plagiarism, human subjects, data fabrication, image fraud, authorship disputes, editorial independence, falsification of data, and research misconduct.

    Participants will learn the appropriate approaches to investigate suspicions of breaches of publications ethics and uses of errata, retractions, expressions of concerns, and sanctions.
