Kira Dreher is Associate Dean of Community Excellence at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar, as well as an Associate Teaching Professor. She received her PhD from University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in Rhetoric and Technical and Scientific Communication. She studies plain language and other written and visual strategies related to communicating complex research to multiple audiences. She teaches technical and professional writing, rhetorical style, and first-year writing, and also co-edits an undergraduate research journal at CMUQ.
